Home-Made Bagel Pizza

Wow it's Monday already and over at http://www.thriftyfloridamama.net/ that means it is "Make It yourself Monday"
Angie has challenged us all for the month of May to make more stuff ourselves and to skip the fast food and higher-priced convenience foods. My contribution this week is something that is a favorite of all the kids in our house. The kids love it because they can help make it and I love it because it's yummy and easy and I know what's in it.
Home Made Bagel Pizza

A Package of your favorite bagels

A cup 0r 2 of your favorite pasta or pizza sauce

A cup or 2 of your favorite combination of shredded cheese

Some pepperoni, salami, diced chicken or your choice of toppings

Preheat you oven or toaster oven to 400 degrees F.
Take the bagels out the package and separate the halves. Put each half of the bagel in a plate or cookie sheet open side up.
Spread a little of the pasta sauce on each bagel (about 1-2 tablespoons).

Top your bagel with your toppings of choice.

Sprinkle some cheese on top.

Transfer the bagel pizzas onto a cookie sheet and place into the oven. Bake for 10 minutes or until they they are crunchy and cheesy looking and smelling ooh soo good.
Remove from oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.

I'm sorry but I stop taking pictures when the kids started spreading the cheese and I just got ready to eat. They tasted great.
You can make all types of different toppings for these. We've made chicken and broccoli, hamburger pizza, spicy Italian sausage pizza and so many other kinds.
Please give bagel pizzas a try, we think they are the best meal for a lazy Sunday evening.

Yum, that makes me hungry :) I used to have these growing up and you just reminded me how much I like them! I'll have to make some soon! Thanks!

The nice thing is, now your children know how to prepare this meal. That's a valuable lesson.

We really do love cooking together as a family. The kids are still very young but there are a few family favorites that they are always willing to help make themselves.

The recipe looks great, but I really love seeing your kids cooking. My kids and I have a lot of fun making things together. It's good for all of us!
